Have you ever had a question about something and looked in a book or typed the question into Google for an answer? If so, then you have done research before! Many of us research topics on a daily basis. In class, our goal was to learn how to go a little more in depth than just a quick consult online, and learn to write a more formal research project.
We started off with researching a national park. We then narrowed down our focus to activities available at the park.
Parents, don't be surprised if your child suggests a trip to Sequoia, Yosemite, or even Yellowstone National Parks next summer!
After students researched and wrote an essay, they created a Google Slides presentation with it, using our Chromebooks.
The presentations turned out great!

These presentations were so much fun to watch. The students were able to let their personalities shine through in a way they couldn't with the more formal tone of their essays.
